If you mean how I look then yes, since I started training I've packed on a fair bit of muscle and a little fat as before I was almost skeletal, now I'd say I deffinatly stand out more. I can't see the change as it's so gradual but I'll be taking measurements and pics every 3 months soni can see if ive impoved

Todays workout...

Squats - 50kg
3 x 10

Incline Bench - 65kg
1 x 8
1 x 6
1 x 6

Close Grip Bench - 40kg
3 x 10

Dumbell Curls - 15kg DBs
3 x 10

Squats was hard today, getting it oer my head was the hard part, should be able to get a few more kg out of it before the clean and press just fails haha. I feel as though im finally hitting a wall with the bench which is good i think as ive been waiting to get to this stage so i can drop weight and finally see some progess,i feel as though i can probs get another kg or two out of it before the reps are so low that i have to drop weight. Tried 70kg flat bench the other day and got 9 out of it, almost 10 so it shows that the incline bench has improves my flat bench as i used to do about 60kg flat prior to this workout.

As for the close grip bench i will increase it, was just seeing how it felt as i wasnt sure how much weight to pack on wih it beign easy to topple to the side, as usually i use the 15kg DBs! The DB curls seem to be getting easier so really have to think about trying to get some more cast iron weights so i can get the weight up...

All in all it was a good workout, has drained my energy and made my legs feel a bit sore but thats what I like about it ;)

Also can anyone give me any advice on good calf excercises, i did try a barbell on my knees sat on a bench but to get the weight even high enough for a descent amount of resistance it was killing my legs with the BB, should i just deadlift some weight and then do calves stood up? Alo my ab workouts dont feel to be straining my abs much, i have tried crunches on a swiss ball holding a 10kg behind my head but it seems to have more burn on my arms than abs! I have one of those ab king ab benches (not mine but in the house) but i have to do like 30 reps on it to feel anyhing and im wantinglow reps high weight. Any tips on some ab excercises that will really rip enough so i will feel it still tommorow?

Cheers guys, feels like ive written a bloody essay!

all sounds like its going to plan matey.

do standiing calf raises single leg or both at same time.
if you do single leg with a db..you have no balance probs but it takes longer.

focus on crunch from you shouldnt be able to do more than 15 if done slow.
you could try planks if form isnt coming.

Yesterdays workout...

Deadlift - 80kg
3 x 10

Shrugs - 80kh
3 x 10

Calves (standing) - 80kg
3 x 10

Bent Over Rows - 57kg
10
9
9

Shoulder press - 40kg (barbell)
10
9
8

Crunches BW
3 x 20

Deads are getting harder, really had to concentrate on form as i could feel my lower back pulling but after i got the form right it was spot on. Never tried 40kg shoulder press, did it standing and it went ok so hope i can increase that soon. The crunches worked well when i did a slow negative so im happy with that. Also i now know to do shrugs before calves as after the calves my grip was shocking as i was holding the 80kg for a while when doing calves haha.

Cheers, Ash

Well cal it's been a little random but now I will add 2.5 a week now as its getting hard, until I can't ad then ill drop it to 1kg.

Yesterdays workout

Squats 53kg
3 x 10

Incline bench 66kg
9
8
8

Close grip bench - 45kg
9
8
8

Dumbell curls EZ Bar - 31kg
3 x 10

The squats weren't that bad it's just getting the bar on my shoulders that's the hardest part, the bench went well but I did have a spotter AND I added up the wrong weight and before the sets did a flat bench of 76 for 6. The close grip is getting harder. The curls hurt the bone in my left forearm and it was taxing on my wrists will have to see how it goes next week.

i have to do bicep curls using an ez bar with an extremely weird grip almost between thumb and forefinger to take the pressure off my forearms and elbows.

Ah ok well I'll have to try the different grips also should I hold the bar on the inner or outer grips?

Ok well i met up with sopme mates today and went to the gym with them. They were doing chest so i just went along with their workout and took a break from my full body for today.

Did the following.

Incline Bench
50kg x 10
60kg x 10
70kg x 6

Incline Flys
16kg DBs - 10
16kg DBs - 10
16kg DBs - 10

Flat Bench
22kg DBs - 10
26kg DBs - 8
26kg DBs - 7

Cable Flys
10, 7, 6

I prefer my workout but i was just seeing some mates so i dont mind going off track for one day and it also meant i could try more weight than usual as i had a spotter, for some reason the 70kg incline didnt seem as hard as the 66kg i do at home so dont know why that was... anyway my tri's and chest are aching and it was a descen workout.

lol well i`d say the middle grips, but whatevers most comfy...

you`ll find weights vary, my weights seem heavier that my mates usual gym poundages.
not sure why...

Incline Bench - 67kg
8
6
6

Bicep curls 31kg
10 x 3
